01

Are the works original?

Yes. Ovico Gallery offers original paintings by Chike Onuorah. Selected works are also available as numbered, archival giclee editions for collectors who want a more accessible entry.

02

What is the difference between an original and a giclee?

An original is a unique, one of a kind painting. A giclee is an archival reproduction produced in a defined edition. Originals carry the fullest value and provenance.

03

Does every painting come with a poem?

Yes. Chike Onuorah writes an original poem for each painting. When you acquire an original, its poem travels home with it, so the work and its words stay together.

04

How do I acquire a piece?

Available works can be acquired directly through the gallery. For high-value originals, we recommend a private consultation, where we walk you through the piece, its record, and its provenance.

05

How is a work authenticated?

Each work is backed by documentation and the standing of a globally recognized artist. Contact the gallery for the documentation that accompanies a specific piece.

06

How is the art shipped?

Shipping is arranged individually for each work, with appropriate handling for fine art. For high-value originals we coordinate the details with you directly.

07

Can I see a work before I acquire it?

Yes. We offer private, one to one viewings, virtual or in the gallery, so you can experience a work and ask your questions before deciding.

08

Is art a sound investment?

Many collectors value contemporary African art for its cultural and financial significance. Art values move with the market, and nothing here is financial advice, but an Ovico work is acquired first for what it holds.

09

Do you accept commissions?

Chike Onuorah accepts a limited number of commissions each year. Share the subject, scale, and setting you have in mind, and we will discuss whether a commission is the right path.
